Ok, let’s start with a confession. I am a total seat snob. I hate eating at the bar unless the bar was my purpose for being there. I hate sitting near the kitchen, bathrooms, front doors or anywhere that has particularly high traffic. So, I will take most of the credit for the hour wait we had.
I had my eye on the only table by the window and when I finally got it my experience was great.
The best thing about Creme was that it had bottomless mimosas as well as bloody mary’s ($16). A brunch spot with bottomless drinks is completely useless if the wait staff are really slow with refilling your drinks, that definitely wasn’t the case at Creme. Our waiter stayed a step ahead and was there to refill our glasses as soon as we took the final sip.
The drinks were really tasty, but so was the food. My friend had the chicken and waffles ($14). Although the chicken looked pretty regular he said that it was extremely good fried chicken and he would have been happy to give up the waffle for more of the chicken.
I had the shrimp and grits ($16) and I think my dish beat my friend’s. The sausage and shrimp were amazing. I was pretty in love with everything actually. It would be hard for me to return to Creme and not order the exact same dish.
With only about 19 tables in the place be prepared to wait unless you don’t mind the bat because Creme is a well known brunch spot. However the wait is definitely worth it, especially if all the staff are as diligent at making sure the bottomless drinks are exactly that.
